We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to lead our pharmacy operations in Farmington Hills, MI. In this role, you will oversee safe medication distribution, provide clinical consultation to patients and healthcare providers, and manage day-to-day pharmacy compliance in accordance with Michigan state laws and federal guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Medication Dispensing & Clinical Verification: Review, interpret, and verify prescription orders for clinical appropriateness, evaluating therapeutic duplicates, drug interactions, contraindications, correct dosages, and patient allergy profiles prior to dispensing.
- Patient Care & Clinical Consultation: Counsel patients on proper drug usage, side effects, and administration techniques; manage clinical services such as comprehensive medication reviews (CMRs), chronic disease monitoring, and vaccine administration.
- Operational Oversight & Supervision: Supervise pharmacy technicians, intern pharmacists, and support staff, ensuring strict adherence to workflow efficiency, quality control checks, inventory management, and controlled substance recordkeeping.
- Regulatory Compliance & Adjudication: Maintain full compliance with DEA, FDA, and Michigan Board of Pharmacy regulations, manage third-party insurance billing and audits, and ensure proper storage and handling of pharmaceuticals.
Qualifications
- Licensure & Certifications: Active, unrestricted Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Michigan (issued by LARA), a current Michigan Controlled Substance License, and an active Immunization Certification with CPR/BLS credentials.
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) degree from an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy; NAPLEX and MPJE (Michigan) passed.
- State Mandatory Training: Proof of completed Michigan state-mandated training in Implicit Bias Awareness, Human Trafficking Identification, and Controlled Substance Prescribing/Dispensing guidelines.
- Clinical & Technical Proficiency: Strong background in drug therapy management, proficiency with pharmacy software systems (e.g., PioneerRx, Epic, or Enterprise), and exceptional verbal and written communication skills for patient and interprofessional interactions.
