Echocardiography Technologist - Contingent

Scope of Position The Cardiac Echo Lab encompasses 6 transthoracic imaging rooms, 1 stress echo room and 2 TEE rooms located on the first floor of the Ross Heart Hospital in the Cardiovascular Imaging Lab. The Echo lab is staffed 7:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday, Saturday and holidays 8:00 am-1:00 pm with an on‑call technologist assigned for off‑hour procedures. Develop and maintain CEU’s, registry, and skill level. Provide sonographic procedures to patients. Assist in training other staff to refine imaging skills. Assist with quality assessment and improvement. Position Summary The Echo sonographer performs sonographic and noninvasive imaging procedures, patient education, and quality assessment activities for the Echo Lab; serves as a mentor to other sonographers and students to enhance quality; assists with ongoing quality assurance and improvement initiatives; follows imaging protocols and maintains standards for quality; maintains current knowledge by participating in CME courses (minimum 30 hours every three years). Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program. Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) registry required within 18 months of hire. Preferred: Previous experience in Cardiac Sonography. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
