Plasma Center Nurse- LPN

You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and serve as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. Perform and oversee informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions as outlined in the SOPs and follow applicable SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues concerning donor safety and eligibility. Support the Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents, determining whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/E.R. and refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator, when authorized by EHS, and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Provide center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS) in accordance with BioLife Medical Affairs guidance. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including graduate‑equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified as an LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy in the state of licensure. Successful completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. At least two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Compensation & Benefits Location: USA – IA – Des Moines Hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44 (actual wage may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, or other qualifications).
