Production Supervisor (Night Shift)Great Lakes Wine and Spirits is a growing statewide company seeking a Production Supervisor to work the Night Shift at one of our depots in the Detroit area.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operational performance by assisting and covering fellow managers and supervisors with daily assignments, taking into account: volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. To facilitate this, proper communication with management and fellow team members is crucial. Other duties include, but are not limited to:Mitigating and monitoring: careless behavior, breakage, idle & over-time, and excessive or inappropriate supply usageFollowing safety, security guidelines as communicated, pertaining but not limited to: cleanliness, PPE compliance, biomechanical techniques, potential hazards, MHE certs, suspicious activity and theftOpening/closing/resetting work areas and/or buildings as dictated by protocolAuditing work area drops zones to ensure product is physically and electronically handled correctlySurveying assigned work area(s) daily to identify & correct issues that aren't in line with shift/company goals regularly throughout the shiftEnsuring work area SOPs / responsibilities are properly and timely addressedAs a Warehouse Supervisor, you will also be responsible for maintaining logs pertinent to payroll and employee information as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to:Verifying punches, approving overtime, and recording leave via daily / weekly inputsAssisting with hiring, reprimanding and discharging for direct reports under management supervisionAuthoring and submitting injury, disciplinary and any other assigned forms in a timely manner following company standards and protocolsWarehouse Supervisors will also train, develop, lead, counsel, delegate and performance coach to ensure our nightly objectives are met. Other duties include, but are not limited to:Conducting team meetings on subject matter delegated by Warehouse Management, as well as HR and SafetyMonitoring and maximizing employee engagement via recognition and accountability interactions with direct reportsEnsuring safety guidelines are communicated and followed by direct reportsEnsuring equipment assigned to or required by direct reports is maintained, available and functioning properlyWork Environment & Physical Demands:The Warehouse Supervisor will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations where noise levels can be loud. This position also requires to be very active and may frequently be standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force.Work ScheduleThis position works the Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally Fridays based on business needs and holiday schedule.Pay & BenefitsAt least $60,000 - $75,000 per year (paid semi-monthly).Potential quarterly bonuses up to 2.5% of annual salary ($1,500 - $2,125 per quarter).Vacation and Personal Time6 Paid HolidaysCompetitive benefits including Medical, Dental, and Vision, Life Insurance, Disability, Employee Assistance Programs, and Group Legal coverage.Buy-Up Life Insurance and Disability coverage available.Eligible for 401K enrollment upon date of hire.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Minimum 2-3 consecutive years of experience in a warehouse lead or supervisor role using warehouse management systems.Minimum 5 years of experience sorting and picking or production in a warehouse distribution center (food and beverage industry preferred).Ability to operate warehouse equipment.Ability to be active and on your feet for an entire shift.Additional RequirementsAdhere to the policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy manual and any applicable contracts, signed agreements, and work rules.Cooperates with all management and staff of GLWAS.Follows all MLCC rules and regulations, as they apply to the position.Use alcohol in a responsible manner when related to business activities.Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
