Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a PICU role requiring 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience including at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU care.

Details

• Pediatric Critical Care and NICU work settings
• 36 hours per week on a 3x12 hour shift schedule (day or night)
• Rotating day/night shifts on a 50/50 basis depending on department needs, with occasional rotation within the same week
• Every other weekend required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Utilizes ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, SIMV, high frequency jet ventilator, and high frequency oscillator
• Performs neonatal/pediatric procedures including bubble CPAP, oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators
• Administers nitric oxide (iNO) therapy

Requirements

• RRT credential required; CRT not accepted
• BLS required; PALS preferred
• License required if applicable
• 2-3 years of respiratory therapy experience with at least 1 year in PICU or Pediatric CVICU
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care/management
• Skilled in interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Experience troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning patients from mechanical ventilation

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory therapy care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU and NICU
• First-time travelers will be considered for this role
• Rate differential available for candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility
