RN - ICU

ICU Registered Nurse This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The unit has a total of 24 beds. There are 50 staff members on the unit. The staffing consists of day and night shifts. Day shift includes 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator and 12 RNs. Night shift also has 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator and 12 RNs. Patient ratios are generally 1:1 or 1:2. The unit is equipped with vents, Swan Ganz catheters, impellas, and balloon pumps. The electronic medical record system is standard for the industry. Preferred skills include Level 1 or 2 trauma experience and CV surgery experience. Typical procedures performed in the unit include intubation, central line placement, bronchoscopy, external ventricular drains, intracranial pressure monitoring, and Swan pacer insertion. Candidates must demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Weekends are required every other weekend. Staff may be placed on call if not needed on their scheduled shift, but this is limited to that shift only. No other on-call expectations are in place.
