Chief Physician And Surgeon, Correctional FacilityCCHCS seeks to fill a Permanent/Full-time Chief Physician and Surgeon (CP&S) position in Medical Services - Utilization Management.Under the general direction of the Deputy Medical Executive (DME), Telemedicine and Utilization Management, the Chief Physician and Surgeon (CP&S), Correctional Facility (CF), covers assigned areas in Utilization Management, which may include but not limited to: oversees and performs statewide activities to optimize medically appropriate utilization of contracted specialty, community emergency and hospital services, specialized medical beds, and placement of complex patients into appropriate facilities after release. Provides subject matter expertise to support the Disability Placement Program (DPP) and providers in determining appropriate disability codes, durable medical equipment orders and referrals to specialists. Chairs the committee charged with third level reviews of high-cost, complex and sensitive patient cases. Supervises teams of medical providers and nurses.
