Base Pay $8,605.00 - $9,681.00 / Month Relocation Expense Covered No Required Degree Masters Manage Others No Name Human Resource Services Phone View phone number on click.appcast.io JOB SUMMARY Provide executive coaching and leadership to superintendents and district staff related to Texas Strategic Leadership (TSL) and Effective District Leadership Initiatives. Build district leadership team’s capacity to align district systems toward high impact strategies that drive student outcomes. Establish, monitor, and report on strategic planning process and outcomes. POSITION REQUIREMENTS JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES Master’s degree required from an accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate required; Mid-Management, Supervisor, or Principal Certification preferred. Three years of experience in executive coaching with school district leadership required. Effective Schools Framework and/or Effective District Framework Certification required within twelve months of employment. Success in a district-level (e.g., central office) role required. Expertise in effective district systems and practices aligned to Effective District Framework (EDF) levers. Deep understanding of core leadership competencies for district superintendents, change management processes and practices, performance management, high level principles and practices, stakeholder engagement, and adult learning and motivation theory. In-depth knowledge of instructional leadership practices that lead to improved teaching and learning. In-depth knowledge of data-driven practices, lesson planning and formative assessment, observation and feedback, school culture, and change management. Knowledge of district practices that impede as well as empower leadership. Knowledge of the accountability system and the necessary actions and measurable progress required to meet rigorous state standards. Strong foundation in coaching models and ability to implement with key stakeholders. Possess regional context and relationships that will help build credibility and trust with superintendents, as well as historical knowledge of community demographics, dynamics, and district performance required. Strategic planning and implementation experience required. Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success. PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES Provide tailored coaching and support to the superintendent and when necessary to their senior district leaders. Jointly facilitate meetings with superintendents aligned to TSL milestones such as current state analysis, multi-year strategic planning, goal setting, and implementation planning. Facilitatestrong communication, alignment, and shared ownership of diagnostic findings and improvement priorities across stakeholders. Partner with TSL Strategic Priorities Performance Management and Data Analyst for strong preparation and effective integration of data and performance management principles, as well as facilitation of key milestones. Support superintendent and district leadership teams through learning opportunities from statewide peers and districts. Lean into pilot learning experiences, demonstrate flexibility in program iteration and execution, as well as critical and creative thinking/problem-solving in providing meaningful feedback to a range of stakeholders. Provide strong content knowledge and facilitation skills, building authentic district trust, and leading to the achievement of targeted district strategic planning outcomes. Obtain certification as a TSL Executive Coach. Work alongside other ESC leaders to develop a vision of support for Local Education Agencies (LEAs). Lead district/campus leadership professional development, implementation support, and coaching related to TSL and Effective District Leadership Initiatives. Design, maintain, oversee, and make available to external and internal clients a selection of services, materials which support increased student achievement, enable effective technology use by educators, learners within schools and within the Center, and enhance operational efficiencies in schools and within the Center. In collaboration with the TSL Performance Management and Data Analyst, develop a long-term plan that addresses gaps identified in needs assessment. Identify areas of program operations in need of change to foster increased efficiency and/or effectiveness in order to enhance service delivery to clients. Comply with the requirements of the ESC-20 Quality Management System (QMS) as detailed in the ESC-20 Quality Manual, Quality Procedures, and Work Instructions. Build professional relationships with colleagues and clients, maintaining regular interaction to meet shared outcomes. Demonstrate self-confidence, professionalism, and a high level of customer service skills (e.g., courtesy, patience, diplomacy, etc.) at all times and, in particular, when under stressful or unprecedented situations while working with colleagues and clients. Demonstrate professional-level written and oral communication skills. Work collaboratively in a team setting. Keep supervisors informed. Regularly handle and maintain confidentiality of sensitive communications and information at all times. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES Be aware of and follow Center guidelines of allowable costs when recommending use of public funds for expenditures for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, peripherals, copy machine, phone, etc. Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Lifting: Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting/carrying (15–50 pounds). Environment: This role primarily operates in an in‑person, dynamic office setting, characterized by frequent verbal communication, movement, and collaboration among team members (small to large in‑person gatherings/meetings); exposure to low or intense illumination; exposure to office equipment noise; may work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent travel; and, occasional remote work (after pre‑determined length of employment). Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Obtain Effective Schools Framework and/or Effective District Framework Certification within twelve months of employment. Champion and model the Center’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Service Standards. Function within the policies and procedures of ESC-20. Accept other responsibilities as assigned. Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting. Travel independently to fulfill responsibilities of the position. Maintain regular and reliable attendance, majority in‑person/onsite.
