Associate Press Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Overview SimpsonStrong‑Tie is looking for a Press Operator to work the 2nd Shift (Mon – Thu 4:25PM–2:55AM). The role includes a $2.50 shift differential for each hour worked. Pay is $19.00 per hour, plus the shift differential. Responsibilities Operate any and all presses as needed to support department and company goals (80%). Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures and maintain a clean work environment. Operate air or electric powered hand tools and make adjustments to equipment as necessary. Count, package and palletize finished product in accordance with work orders. Handle material such as cartons, labels, coils of steel, pallets and packaging tape. Assist other personnel with press set‑ups and changeovers. Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements (20%). Desired Skills & Experience High school diploma or GED (required). One month of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and training. Safety: consistently demonstrate safe work practices and promote a safe work environment. Ability to safely operate a manual pallet jack. Reliability: consistently demonstrate punctual attendance. Mathematical reasoning: apply basic algebra and geometry concepts; add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Reading comprehension: read and write simple correspondence and follow instructions. Analysis/reasoning: interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Communication: communicate one‑on‑one and in small group settings. Measurements: read a tape measure to 1/32″ tolerance, use combination squares to measure angles to ±1° and read a micrometer. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Employees regularly stand, walk, see, talk and hear; may sit occasionally. Operate large equipment while standing for 8‑12hours, frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling materials up to 50pounds or heavier with proper equipment. The job may involve exposure to heat/cold, loud noise, vibration and moving mechanical parts. Location & Status Full‑time, non‑exempt position located in McKinney, TX.
