Phlebotomy/EKG TechnicianLocation: Jackson, TN, 38305The Phlebotomy/EKG Technician will be responsible for performing venipuncture and capillary puncture on adult and pediatric patients. They will also be required to instruct patients in all urine and stool collection procedures and testing requirements. The technician will perform standard EKG testing and other related exams on patients according to established standards and practices as required by each location. The technician will communicate in a manner that promotes clinic and laboratory professionalism as well as a comfortable phlebotomy experience.Responsibilities:Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on adult and pediatric patientsInstruct patients in all urine and stool collection procedures and testing requirementsPerform standard EKG testing and other related exams on patients according to established standards and practicesCommunicate in a manner that promotes clinic and laboratory professionalismEnsure a comfortable phlebotomy experience for patientsRequirements:High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of a phlebotomy or EKG technician training programValid certification as a phlebotomist or EKG technicianExperience performing venipuncture and capillary puncture on adult and pediatric patientsKnowledge of urine and stool collection procedures and testing requirementsAbility to perform standard EKG testing and other related exams on patientsExcellent communication skillsAbility to promote clinic and laboratory professionalismNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
