Shipping Clerk

Job Title: Shipping Clerk Job Description

The Shipping Clerk plays a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and well-organized shipment of products to customers. This position focuses on preparing outgoing orders, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting a clean, efficient warehouse operation through careful packaging, labeling, and use of shipping and inventory systems.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare outgoing orders by boxing, sealing, labeling, and verifying product accuracy against customer orders and packing slips.
  • Print customer orders and packaging slips, review them for accuracy, and ensure all required documentation accompanies each shipment.
  • Pick products from shelves according to order specifications and scan picked items to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Match product specifications and order details to confirm all items are correct before sealing packages.
  • Load completed orders into appropriate boxes, seal packages securely, and move finished product to the loading dock for shipment.
  • Use an RF scanner to track inventory, pick orders, perform cycle counts, and update stock levels in real time.
  • Utilize ShipStation software to process shipments, generate labels, and prepare orders for carrier pick-up.
  • Stock shelves and maintain an organized warehouse area, ensuring products are stored in the correct locations.
  • Perform inventory control tasks, including data entry, cycle counts, and verification of stock quantities.
  • Operate pallet jacks to move product safely throughout the warehouse and between production and shipping areas.
  • Receive training and certification to operate sit-down equipment for unloading trucks safely and efficiently.
  • Transport finished products from the production area to the shipping department in a timely and organized manner.
  • Assist with loading and unloading shipments, including lifting, loading, and unloading boxes as needed.
  • Follow all PPE, safety, and cleanliness requirements, including use of hair nets, coats, gloves, and booties in controlled rooms.
  • Sign and adhere to required confidentiality agreements related to proprietary supplement recipes.
  • Comply with all facility rules, including non-smoking policies and adherence to climate and moisture control standards.
  • Participate in training on first shift and adapt to assigned shift schedules, including front half or back half week structures.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2 years of shipping experience in a warehouse or shipping and receiving environment.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving processes, including packing, labeling, and verifying orders.
  • Proficiency using RF scanners for picking orders, tracking inventory, and performing cycle counts.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inventory control tasks, including data entry and warehouse inventory management.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks safely to move product within the warehouse.
  • Capability to lift, load, and unload boxes and materials as part of daily shipping and receiving duties.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure product accuracy, correct labeling, and proper documentation for each shipment.
  • Basic computer skills to use shipping software, perform data entry, and manage electronic orders and packing slips.
  • Ability to work a 10-hour shift and be available between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, as required for training and scheduling.
  • Ability to work in a non-smoking facility and comply with all PPE and safety requirements.
  • Ability to work without dairy or shellfish exposure issues, as the environment involves supplements where such allergies are not compatible.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience working with ShipStation or similar shipping software to process and prepare shipments.
  • Previous experience in warehouse inventory management, including stocking, cycle counts, and inventory control.
  • Comfort working in climate-controlled and moisture-controlled rooms with specific PPE requirements.
  • Willingness to sign an NDA and maintain confidentiality regarding proprietary product formulas.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish; bilingual or Spanish-only speakers are welcome.
  • Prior experience in a shipping and receiving clerk role, including filling, packaging, labeling, and shipping products per customer order.

Work Environment

The work environment is a non-smoking, climate-controlled facility kept at approximately 65 degrees year-round, with all rooms carefully managed for temperature and moisture to protect product quality. Employees train Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on first shift before moving into regular schedules. The operation runs two main shift structures: a front-half schedule (Sunday–Wednesday) and a back-half schedule (Wednesday–Saturday). Team members must be available between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to accommodate training and scheduling needs and will work a 10-hour shift within those hours. Specific shift options include first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and second shift from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with training conducted on first shift. The facility requires PPE, including hair nets, coats, gloves, and booties, and maintains strict cleanliness and safety standards. Work involves regular use of RF scanners, ShipStation software, pallet jacks, and sit-down equipment for unloading trucks. The environment includes handling supplement products under confidentiality agreements, and team members must be able to work safely without dairy or shellfish allergy concerns while adhering to all operational and safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buda, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
