Travel Stepdown RN Company: Fusion Medical Staffing Location: Facility in Dayton, Ohio Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Dayton, Ohio. Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification NIHSS Certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical‑surgical or general inpatient units. Responsibilities include frequent monitoring, specialized nursing interventions, medication administration, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe, patient‑centered care. Essential Work Functions Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with a focus on cardiac care Prepares equipment and assists physician during cardiac‑related procedures and examinations Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient’s cardiac status and response to interventions Responds to life‑saving situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiac emergencies Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned telemetry patients Initiates patient education plans, focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetry patients Maintains confidentiality of patients and client information Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Adheres to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Required Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Proficiency in reading, writing, and verbal communication in the English language PC skills Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position, move about, and move equipment (50‑100 lbs) Push, pull, and bend as required Interpersonal Skills Work effectively with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills Grasp, fine manipulation, and assist with procedures and equipment use Mental Requirements Handle frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure Work under close supervision occasionally, and independently when required Maintain concentration on detail despite irregular activity schedules Sensory Visual acuity and effective communication required Benefits Include Highly competitive pay for travel professionals Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with first‑day coverage Paid Time Off (PTO) after 1560 hours Life and short‑term disability offered 401(k) matching Aggressive refer‑a‑friend bonus program 24/7 recruiter support Reimbursement for licensure and CEUs Other Duties Disclaimer To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
