Job Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join our team on the night shift. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, including adults, pediatrics, and neonates, in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Timing: 1845 - 0715

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory assessments, including drawing and analyzing arterial blood gases (ABGs).
• Administer treatments and set up ventilation for patients, including those on mechanical ventilation.
• Participate in all deliveries and C-sections if NICU trained.
• Assist in intubation procedures as required.
• Float between inpatient units and a freestanding emergency department as necessary.

Patient Care

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide care to a variety of patients, including:

• Adults
• Pediatrics
• Neonates (with NICU training)

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Required Certifications:
  
  
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) if NICU experience is present
• Valid Arizona state RRT licensure. Note: CRT licensure is not acceptable.

Additional Information

• Travelers are not required to intubate independently but must be able to assist.
• An Intensivist is available in-house 24/7 for support.
• A Charge RRT will be present on each shift.
• Weekend work will be required every other weekend.
• Travelers will be expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays.
• Dress Code: Black scrubs are required.

Orientation

New hires will undergo a comprehensive orientation, which includes:

• One day in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) if applicable
• One day in the Emergency Department
• One day in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• One day on the Patient Floor
