Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room provides critical nursing care to diverse patient populations, supporting high-volume emergency services and Behavioral Health units. This role demands clinical expertise, quick decision-making, and adherence to safety protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and coordinate emergency nursing care for neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Support two locked Behavioral Health units in the ED, ensuring patient security and safety under the guidance of a security team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans efficiently.
• Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner, FirstNet, and Launch systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Support urgent and critical care evaluations, floating between units within scope as needed.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control procedures during all patient interactions.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a Maryland or compact RN license upon submission.
• Minimum of 3 years of Emergency Department experience; 2 years of Level I or II trauma preferred.
• Valid certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, and PALS; CEN encouraged.
• Demonstrate strong precepting or training experience is a plus.
• Ability to work day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM), with every other weekend required.
• Proven ability to handle an approximately 120 patient daily census in a high-acuity setting.
