Maintenance Electrician

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform a variety of electrical work in the manufacture, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment, systems and machinery.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

Troubleshoot and repair electro-mechanical, hydro-mechanical, and pneumatic systems. Perform routine and non-routine work on mechanical systems as needed. Fabricate mechanical attachments and modifications that support electrical work. Accept, plan, and complete assignments for repair or installation of electrical equipment, building systems and all plant production equipment. Install conduit, EMT, PVC, panel boards and all related fittings including controls for power, heat and light in accordance with Local and National code. Work from blueprint sketches and wiring diagrams, making diagrams if needed. Use and maintenance of all test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls. Assist engineering with design of new equipment controls, PLC controls, building electrical systems and power distribution systems. Troubleshoot equipment program control problems through utilization of computer PLC interface, laptop computer or other MMI. Operate and maintain plant systems, including boilers and steam systems, air compressors, pumps and general facility support systems. Repair and maintain production machinery. Work from drawings, plans or sketches to fabricate fixtures, replacement parts and weld fabrications. Identify, troubleshoot and repair problems in electrical wiring and systems. Perform preventive maintenance and upgrades to wiring, conduit and electronic control systems. Investigate and resolve work-in-process problems. Recommend and implement improvements and/or modifications of sequence of electrical operations. Ensure proper wiring of facility for machinery and facility layout. Perform other duties as assigned.
