Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor

The incumbent is a Senior Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) whose duties and responsibilities relate to the case management of Veterans who are demonstrating suicide behaviors. Must be skillful in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of at-risk Veterans as they transition through care. Provides these services at an advanced practice level to eligible Veterans to meet biological, psychological, social, and environmental needs. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. May qualify based on being covered by the Grandfathering Provision as described in the VA Qualification Standard for this occupation (only applicable to current VHA employees who are in this occupation and meet the criteria). Grade Determinations GS-12 Senior LPMHC Preferred Experience Prefer at least 2 years providing evidence-based psychotherapy for a variety of MH problems.
