Position Overview
At South Seas, our Public Area Attendants play an essential role in creating a clean, welcoming, and memorable experience for every guest. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and sanitation of all public spaces throughout the resort, ensuring each area reflects the high standards of South Seas.
From the lobby and guest corridors to restrooms, meeting spaces, recreational facilities, and outdoor common areas, the Public Area Attendant helps provide an exceptional first and lasting impression while supporting a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable resort environment.
Rate of Pay
Hourly Position: $21.00 per hour
Essential Functions
Clean, sanitize, and maintain all interior and exterior public areas according to South Seas brand standards.
Maintain resort lobbies, entrances, hallways, elevators, stairwells, restrooms, meeting spaces, fitness areas, and other guest-facing public spaces.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, polish, and disinfect surfaces using approved cleaning products and procedures.
Restock restroom supplies including soap, paper products, and other guest amenities.
Empty trash and recycling containers throughout the resort and replace liners as needed.
Clean windows, glass doors, mirrors, fixtures, furniture, and decorative elements.
Maintain cleanliness of outdoor walkways, patios, pool deck common areas, and other public gathering spaces.
Respond promptly to guest requests and housekeeping service calls with professionalism and urgency.
Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or cleanliness issues to the appropriate department.
Assist with special cleaning projects, deep cleaning assignments, and seasonal resort preparation.
Operate housekeeping equipment including vacuums, floor machines, carpet extractors, and other cleaning equipment safely.
Follow proper chemical handling, storage, and safety procedures in accordance with OSHA requirements.
Support housekeeping operations during high occupancy periods and assist other housekeeping team members as needed.
Maintain housekeeping closets, storage rooms, and equipment in a clean and organized condition.
Deliver exceptional guest service by greeting guests warmly and assisting with basic resort information or directing them to the appropriate department.
What are we looking for?
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or resort cleaning experience preferred.
Hospitality or resort experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced environment.
Must be dependable, punctual, and committed to delivering exceptional guest service.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Frequently bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and lift.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment and housekeeping tools.
Schedule Requirements
Must be available to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Flexible schedule based on business demands and resort occupancy.
Overtime may be required during peak seasons and special events
