Certifications: Current BLS certification (or must be obtained within 90 days)

Must-Have:

• Advanced knowledge of imaging procedures in at least two modalities.
• Effective communication skills.
• General knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to learn and work with electronic records including PACS and RIS/HIS.

Description:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for the quality and efficient completion of radiologic procedures for diagnostic interpretation. The Radiologic Technologist provides patient education and quality patient care. They must meet all regulatory compliance requirements. Practices radiation safety and adheres to ALARA standards. They must inquire if female patients are pregnant and protect them from harmful radiation. Performs quality control in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. Able to operate equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines. Performs all exams based on Imaging Department Protocols or in coordination with the Radiologist. Assists with clerical duties and patient transportation as required. Answers telephone calls, directs calls, and accurately records messages. Assists, trains, or cross-trains imaging staff members as directed. Completes equipment downtime forms and promptly notifies management of equipment issues. Demonstrates flexibility in rearranging work schedules for emergencies, illnesses, and vacations. Must be self-motivated and capable of using independent judgment. Notifies the Radiologist of all STAT or emergent cases and provides appropriate contact information. Obtains necessary informed consents when required. Documents medical history relevant to the patient and the procedure. Maintains a positive attitude and supports all staff members. Responsible for ordering, stocking, and managing supply inventory. Submits all required documents to appropriate departments. Troubleshoots equipment problems and contacts service engineers if necessary. Verifies exam orders and patient identification through two means. Completes the necessary paperwork and ensures prior studies are available before submitting for interpretation. May be required to work on holidays and weekends. Adheres to values and maintains effective communication and relationships. Completes annual education and training requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times. Participates in departmental and facility performance improvement activities. Responsible for following safety and infection control protocols.
