Description:
The Mental Health Clinician shall collaborate with the multi-disciplinary treatment team in outpatient clinic settings to improve the health and well-being of pediatric patients and their families.
Services shall include crisis intervention services, individual psychotherapy, possible family and group psychotherapy, and limited case management.
Services and supports shall comply with established policies, procedures, protocols, and regulatory requirements.
Essential functions include assisting with the diagnosis and assessment of patients and families who receive mental health services at the outpatient clinic.
Develop and update treatment plans with patients and/or families that address identified needs.
Implement interventions, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy services.
Provide case management support when needed, including resource coordination and community referral.
Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure well-coordinated and integrated care.
Provide crisis intervention services in partnership with appropriate members of the care team when necessary.
Maintain current documentation of assessment, treatment, referral, and termination of services that comply with established standards.
Provide necessary psychiatric diagnosis and clinical information for claims submission.
Involve protective services according to established legal reporting mandates.
Coordinate with other providers and systems to ensure cross-system coordination of care.
Maintain knowledge of evidence-based practices applicable to the patient populations served.
Participate in regular supervision with the Manager to ensure quality, professional growth, and ethical practice.
Provide in-service presentations as needed.
Provide community service information as required.


Required skills and experience include the ability to apply theories, principles, and practices of clinical therapy and social services delivery systems in a medical setting.
Ability to gather data to assess the needs of patients and families.
Ability to manage a caseload and maintain confidentiality of information.
Ability to provide written case narratives and reports.
Knowledge of effective psychiatric assessment, interviewing, and counseling techniques.
Knowledge of community resources to access and provide for patient care needs.
Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
