Graduate Research Assistant

Position Overview The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) invites graduate students with experience in teaching in higher education to apply for a Graduate Research Assistant position to assist with the development, promotion, and evaluation of professional development programming for Graduate Teaching Assistants and Graduate Students. Note: This GRA position is .20 FTE, 8 hours per week. Tuition support is NOT available. This is a salaried position. Job Description 70% – Assist faculty participants in CTE programs with producing course-level posters and portfolios to make work on their courses public. 20% – Provide support for project evaluation. 10% – Assist with developing resources and programming for Graduate Teaching Assistants. Required Qualifications Must be properly enrolled as a graduate student and in good academic standing at the University of Kansas. Successful teaching experience in higher education, as evidenced by application materials. Excellent communication skills, as evidenced by application materials. Prior work experience that required working independently and in an organized and professional manner, as evidenced by application materials. Preferred Qualifications Background in the scholarship of teaching and learning and in evaluation of student learning, as evidenced by application materials. Demonstrated project management skills, as evidenced by application materials. 2026-2027 Federal Work Study award. Employment Conditions Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
