Plant Manager III - Waldron Plant (Waldron, AR)

Summary This position is responsible for all functional areas of a poultry processing plant, including the efficient operation of three production shifts, maintenance, personnel safety, shipping and receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality, and process improvement. The role also involves motivating managers, resolving issues related to the quality of goods, reviewing cost and performance data, compiling monthly expense and efficiency reports, promoting and explaining the Total Quality Management (TQM) philosophy, obtaining approval for and executing all plant capital improvement projects, facilitating Talent Mapping and Succession Planning programs, supporting retention initiatives, and ensuring food safety, food quality, and regulatory compliance. It further requires initiating and implementing improvements across all phases of production, assisting in identifying, evaluating, and resolving operational issues, and performing additional responsibilities as needed. Core Responsibilities Operate the plant across three production shifts. Maintain personnel safety and plant sanitation. Manage shipping and receiving operations. Schedule and supervise multiple departmental teams. Oversee quality control and continuous process improvement. Compile monthly expense and efficiency reports. Promote the TQM philosophy to employees. Obtain approval for and execute plant capital improvement projects. Facilitate Talent Mapping and Succession Planning, and support retention initiatives. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Identify, evaluate, and resolve operational issues across all production phases. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a general professional or technical field, or equivalent experience, is required. Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience; experience in the food processing industry is preferred. General knowledge of computer programs used in plant operations, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); working knowledge of SAP systems is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to travel approximately 6 to 11 trips per year. Responsible for managing multiple groups of personnel across more than one department.
