About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ years License: Pending state license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous charge experience, patient ratio experience Description: Position requires a registered nurse specialized in the intensive care unit. This is a night shift position working 4x12-hour shifts. First-time travelers are welcome to apply. A minimum of 1 year of experience is required. The nurse will care for a patient ratio of 1:2. Weekend shifts are required. May be floated to other units as necessary, capped at 4 patients maximum while floating. Candidates must be willing to comply with all facility requirements. Non-billable modules will be completed onsite during orientation. The nursing role involves the management of complex patient conditions. Skills required include arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal assistance, and care of ventilated patients. In addition, the nurse will be responsible for blood product administration, central line care, and management of patients with acute and chronic conditions. Experience with IV sedation, stroke care, and neuro intensive care is advantageous. Interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is necessary. Travelers can expect to receive brief orientation on the unit they are assigned to.
