We are a well-established and respected cabling company that has been in business for 40+ years, serving the Jacksonville area. Providing Wi-Fi, Access Control, CCTV, Phones, speech privacy, network cabling, IT room buildout, and other low-voltage services. Communication Planning Corporation has been a provider of Low-Voltage solutions in the business and commercial market for North Florida since 1980. We are expanding our team! We’re seeking a skilled Access Control Installation Technician with a strong background in network and low-voltage cabling. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing and maintaining advanced access control systems and ensuring seamless installation of network cabling projects. We service and install CCTV, Access Control, A/V, network, Paging, Sound Masking, and Fiber Optic cabling.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in Cabling and Low Voltage systems
Familiarity with blueprints, and manuals
Familiarity with cabling tools and hand tools
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Ability to problem solve.
Must be a team player with a positive attitude and commitment to excellence and eagerness to grow.

Job responsibilities will include:

Work with or lead a team
Install and repair Category 6 and fiber optic cable and equipment
Install various types of raceway and cable tray systems
Troubleshoot & install CCTV and Access control systems
Perform routine additions and changes on l wiring and systems
Adhere to all quality and safety codes
Cable Installer, Structured Cable, Cable Technician Installation of Data and Voice Cabling system
Installation of Category 6, 6a cabling and terminating jacks and Patch panels.
Proper labeling, terminating, and Testing cable
Installation of J-hooks, sleeves, firestops, cable tray, communication racks, and plywood backboards.
Reading and understanding prints and diagrams.
Installation of other low voltage technologies.

Other technologies that you may be exposed to or trained in:

Network Cabling, Fiber Optic cabling, termination and testing.
Paging systems, Speech privacy, and notification systems
VoIP, CCTV, Access Control, WiFi
