Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Progressive Care Unit team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care and be adaptable in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a progressive care setting.
• Manage and administer medications and intravenous (IV) therapies, including titrating drips such as Heparin, Nitro, and Insulin.
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Perform patient assessments and develop care plans.
• Utilize telemetry equipment and interpret cardiac strips.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Participate in patient education and advocacy.
• Assist with high-acuity procedures and ensure proper use of equipment such as arterial lines and respiratory devices.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.
• Experience with arterial lines and monitoring cardiac patients is preferred.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Shifts are 12 hours long, with both day and night schedules available. Nurses will be required to work every other weekend and a minimum of two holidays within the contract time frame.

Candidate must be flexible, willing to learn, and open to receiving feedback. Strong focus on patient experience, responsiveness, communication, and diverse cultural populations in care.

One day of unit-specific orientation will be provided to enhance integration into the team.

The Progressive Care Unit has 40 beds and an average daily census of 24 patients, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 during both day and night shifts.
