Lead Workday Developer, Technology

Job Overview Lead Developer with expertise in Workday Financials to design, develop, and implement Workday Financials modules and custom solutions while leading a development team. Responsibilities Analyze complex process, system, and data requirements across major projects. Serve as technical subject matter expert for subsystems and lead design of complex components. Build, test, deploy, and document software components, mentoring peers in development practices. Create software engineering strategies to identify and mitigate risks, lead code and requirement reviews, and champion defect resolution. Direct internal process improvement initiatives, provide feedback on processes, and offer suggestions for efficiency. Mentor and supervise junior staff on project‑level tasks; provide backup coverage for Delivery Lead. Assist in adherence to technology policies, security controls, and FINRA standards. Refresh technical knowledge of Workday releases, evaluate new features for adoption, and participate in full‑life‑cycle implementations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline; Master’s degree preferred. At least seven (7) years of related experience or equivalent training/work experience. Strong proficiency with Workday Financials configuration and development, Workday Studio, EIBs, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, and integration technologies. Hands‑on experience with Workday Report Writer, Calculated Fields, XML/SOAP/REST, and custom reporting. Experience with Workday security model, role‑based permissions, and financial business processes. Proficient in Java and/or Python for custom development; knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automated deployment, and testing frameworks. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; excellent communication skills. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities; ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies. Preferred: Workday Pro Certification in Financial Management or Integration; experience in adaptive planning, additional financial or ERP platforms, and business intelligence tools.
