Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Arcata, California. This role offers an opportunity to provide critical care in a dynamic emergency department setting, serving a diverse patient population with various acute conditions and traumas.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in a fast-paced environment. This position requires a commitment to patient safety, excellent clinical judgment, and the ability to collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality emergency services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with a wide range of emergency conditions.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and physician orders.
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist with medical procedures as required in an emergency setting.
• Monitor patient responses to interventions and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Operate and maintain emergency medical equipment.
• Document all patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Respond effectively to emergency situations, including codes and rapid responses.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
• Proof of negative TB screen within 12 months of the contract starting date.
