Director, Corporate Accounting

Job Location: North Canton, OH 44720 Position Type: Accounting Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Shift: 8hr Job Category: D1 Position Summary This position is responsible for the accounting and finance operations of the organization including financial close, financial consolidation and internal reporting, accounting policy and procedures, and financial systems. Essential Functions Lead the accounting function and teams with a continuous focus on improving policies, processes, procedures, and systems. Manage the month-end close process including entity consolidations, corporate entries, and the finalization of a monthly trial balance to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with US GAAP. Interpret and analyze monthly/quarterly/annual results. Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports. Review and approve financial statements to ensure accuracy of financial information and compliance with US GAAP. Review and approve account reconciliations (quarterly, at a minimum). Review and approve monthly account fluctuation explanations. Oversee and coordinate the activities of the external auditors to ensure successful completion of annual financial audit. Participate in the development of the Company’s strategic and financial planning activities with senior management, including evaluating the impact of new initiatives and regulatory developments on the business. Represent the accounting function in acquisition analysis and acquisition integration. Participate in ongoing organizational and individual development within the accounting organization to transform and adapt the organization to changing business needs and strategies. Build and enhance a strong accounting team that provides proactive support and results‑driven execution of responsibilities. Manage and coach employees to facilitate engagement and professional development, continually striving to develop talent within the accounting organization. Align and activate resources to resolve issues and/or take advantage of opportunities arising from organizational change. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Certified Public Accounting (CPA) designation preferred. 8+ years of accounting experience, including experience in a corporate controller role. Excellent management and leadership skills; able to build effective teams and coach and develop team members. Critical thinking and analytical skills, including the capacity to identify, assess and prioritize competing interests and needs. Skills and ability to clearly and concisely communicate verbally and in writing to convey complex concepts logically. Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate discretion. Skill and ability to strategically execute within a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented and complex environment.
