Meat Department Associate

Essential duties include:

• Providing premier customer service, including greeting customers and answering their questions.
• Cutting and preparing all varieties and cuts of meat while operating tools safely.
• Selling products by providing customers with information needed to make a product-related decision.
• Helping to verify and unload meat deliveries from trucks.
• Maintaining, filling, and rotating product in meat cases.
• Moving meat from coolers to cutting area and returning cut meat to coolers.
• Training other associates as needed.
• Maintaining Rock Creek IGA standards for product guidelines in sanitations, freshness, trimming, and cutting.
• Cleaning equipment.
• Assisting in other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service.
• Ability to interpret and follow instructions and solve problems.

Physical demands:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
• Ability to push/pull a loaded Grocery cart throughout any assigned shift unassisted.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
• Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.
• Ability to reach above shoulders and horizontally to stock and retrieve inventory.

Work environment:

• Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work safely with box cutters and meat department equipment.
