Job Description - $2,500 Sign on Bonus - Day One Benefits BioLife Plasma Services is a subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) supports plasma center operations under the guidance of the Center Manager and the Center Physician. The role requires managing donor eligibility, adverse events, lab test reviews, and providing medical and environmental support per BioLife Medical Affairs and EHS guidance. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, medical history interviews, physical examination, blood testing and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis. Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including development of standing orders and coordinating donor transport to emergency care. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation is needed by occupational health/ER, referencing EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized nursing program with state requirements. Licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities are assigned: Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). Current CPR and AED certification. State licensure requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
