Family Law Paralegal

Wells Family Law, PC, is seeking a full-time Paralegal to join our growing team. We are a group of like-minded attorneys and staff working onsite to provide exemplary client representation in a collegial work environment. Must have a demonstrable interest in the practice of family law, strong communication skills, excellent drafting skills, attention to detail and a sense of humor. Also, applicants must be comfortable in an office that welcomes dogs. Although 2-5 years of experience is preferred, we will train an appropriate candidate as well. Responsibilities: Manage complex Excel spreadsheets and formulas; Demonstrated ability to research, analyze and write; Assist attorney or LLP in managing dissolution of marriage, legal separation, allocation of parental responsibilities, and other domestic relations cases from intake to resolution; Document management; Responsible for managing case deadlines, docketing, E-filing, scheduling and day-to-day client management; Prepare first drafts of correspondence, pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, discovery, subpoenas, witness disclosures and exhibit lists for review by attorney; Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, assemble exhibit books, attend court to support attorney with timekeeping and exhibit management; Correspond with clients regularly to schedule meetings, provide updates, provide guidance, and develop case; Correspond with counsel and the court to schedule hearings, status conferences and meetings; Assist in overseeing client trust account management; and Collaborate with other counsel and staff. Experience: The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years prior experience as a family law paralegal. Key qualifications include: Experience managing litigation cases start to finish, including client management, docketing and ensuring that all deadlines are met, collecting and organizing documents; client billing and collecting; Excellent attention to detail and accountability; Initiative; Understanding of confidentiality issues; Trust account experience. Proficiency in file organization systems and document management practices; Experience drafting pleadings, motions, marital balance sheets and settlement documents; Demonstrated ability to manage attorneys and staff effectively while fostering a positive work environment; and Proficiency in Word, Xcel, Adobe Pro, Clio practice management software, Zoom phone and videoconferencing technology. Compensation: Please note that the following compensation information is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. Job Type: Full-time; Estimated hours: 40 per week; This is a salaried position with no overtime. The annual base salary range for this position is $55,000 - $85,000, with additional compensation of between $6,000 to $20,000 available in the form of discretionary productivity bonuses for billing and collecting to standard. Actual pay will be adjusted based on education, experience, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2. 100 hours per month minimum billed and collected expectation.
