What you will do

\n
\n

Under specific direction is responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level. Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to building owners by providing technical solutions and operational expertise. Builds and manages long term customer relationships/partnerships with target and managed accounts. Responsible for customer satisfaction. Positions renewable service agreements as the foundation of managed account relationships. Performs the sales process to cultivate and manage long-term relationships and seeking out, qualifying and closing new sales opportunities. Obtain and close sales on a monthly basis. Seeks to expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within an account.

Key Responsibilities

• Initiate, establish, and grow profitable service relationships with new customers.
\n
• Sell renewable maintenance agreements as the foundation for long-term customer partnerships.
\n
• Work an assigned geographic territory in collaboration with local branch sales and operations teams.
\n
• Use sales tools to plan, document, and track sales progress and opportunities.
\n
• Identify and develop new business by uncovering customer needs and market opportunities.
\n
• Conduct sales calls focused on heating, cooling, ventilation, and control system equipment.
\n
• Prepare, review, and finalize proposals and secure customer commitment to the Johnson Controls solution.
\n
• Lead customer kick-off meetings, support issue resolution, and help maintain and extend service agreements.
\n
• Create pull-through opportunities, support collections activity, and strengthen account growth.
\n
• Develop territory marketing plans aligned with the Johnson Controls Building Solutions strategy.
\n
• Attend trade shows, participate in professional organizations, and represent Johnson Controls with professionalism.

• Stay close to the customer's work by listening carefully, identifying facility challenges, and understanding how HVAC service impacts daily operations.

• Use a disciplined sales process to identify, target, and qualify prospects, then build a referral network that expands your reach.
\n
• Move with urgency and candor when resolving customer needs, positioning Johnson Controls as the supplier of choice through practical, value-driven solutions.
\n
• Improve every day through thoughtful problem-solving by using Salesforce.com, sharing clear progress updates, and asking for support when needed to keep deals moving.
\n
• Win as one team by collaborating with branch sales and operations colleagues, valuing diverse perspectives, and aligning efforts to serve the customer well.
\n
• Connect service capabilities to customer goals with a focus on renewable maintenance agreements, digital service offerings, sustainability, and decarbonization.

What we look for

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or Equivalent SALES Experience in HVAC or Building Automation Industry Required
\n
• A minimum of six (6) years of progressive field sales experience. 
\n
• At least one year successfully selling HVAC or building automation system service or projects. 
\n
• Demonstrates a commitment to integrity and quality in business. 
\n
• Excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills.  
\n
• Demonstrated ability to influence account decision makers at key levels.
\n

Salary Range: HIRING SALARY RANGE: $64,000- $92,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This role also offers a competitive Sales Incentive Plan that will take into account volume and margin on a project, quarterly, and annual basis. This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
