PhD Residency - AI/Data Science for Architecture, Landscape Design and Structural Engineering Location: Mountain View, CA. Internship Experience Placed on confidential or public X projects. Paid competitively and with Google benefits. Part of a lively community of other Interns and Residents. Details Location: X's headquarters, Mountain View, CA. Start: Year‑round rolling basis. Duration: 4‑month to 1‑year program, flexible based on project team needs and availability. Salary: US$109,000 – 145,000 (base) plus benefits. Qualifications Currently enrolled in a PhD program focused on applying AI/Data Science to architecture, landscape design, and/or structural engineering. Hands‑on experience with machine learning/deep learning systems, algorithms or applications such as generative AI, computer vision, optimization, or other statistical methods. Fluency in Python, including object‑oriented programming. Ability to dedicate 100% of your time to the project for at least 4 months. Willingness to work in person at headquarters in Mountain View, CA; relocation expenses provided. Positive attitude, collaborative mindset, perseverance, and strong desire to improve the world through technology. Must not plan to graduate or leave the academic program during residency. Optional Skills Expertise in sustainable design, environmental justice, and/or biodiversity conservation. Open‑source projects demonstrating relevant skills or publications in conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, ICASSP. Hands‑on experience working with geospatial data via Python and/or SQL. Export Control Notice This role requires exposure to technologies subject to heightened controls under US export laws.
