Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Orthopedics Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Orthopedic team. This role is essential for delivering high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical environment, specifically focused on orthopedic procedures. Key Responsibilities Deliver patient care for orthopedic conditions, including total joint replacements, spinal surgeries, and orthopedic trauma. Utilize peripheral nerve block catheters and manage surgical drains effectively. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Administer medication and treatments as per healthcare protocols. Monitor and assess patient responses to treatment and adjust care plans as needed. Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and rehabilitation. Participate in weekend coverage every third weekend shift. Float between the Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical units as needed. Qualifications Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license. BLS certification required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a med-surg orthopedic setting. Must have completed at least one travel assignment. Experience in managing patients with orthopedic conditions, specifically with peripheral nerve block catheters, total joint replacements, and surgical drains. Patient Population Joint replacements Spinal surgery Orthopedic trauma Hand trauma Fractures Additional Requirements All employees are required to have the seasonal flu vaccine. Work Schedule This position involves rotating shifts on a 3x12 hour schedule, primarily during the day (07:00 - 19:30).
