Registered Nurse Imaging Interventional Radiology (Part Time)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Interventional Radiology team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic interventional radiology procedures, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, including assessment, education, and obtaining informed consent.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist radiologists and technologists during interventional procedures by managing sterile fields, administering medications, and providing direct patient care.
  • Manage post-procedure care, including monitoring for complications, pain management, and patient education for discharge.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards within the imaging suite.

Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program. Current Maryland license as a Registered Nurse. BLS and ACLS required. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred.

Work Orientation & Experience: One year experience in an intensive care or operating room setting.

Skills & Abilities: Visual and hearing abilities sufficient for observing and interpreting medical and technical information provided by a variety of equipment displays, graphic and written sources; sufficient for receiving and understanding job related verbal technical and medical instructions in a busy radiology environment. Ability to steadily perform nursing care procedures in the presence of critically injured or critically ill patients, highly anxious family members, multiple physician requests, and changing supervisory requirements necessary to serve the patients.
