Senior Development Quality Engineer

Abbott seeks a Senior Development Quality Engineer for its Structural Heart division in Menlo Park, California. This role provides quality engineering support to manufacturing and product development teams, leading improvement efforts and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for medical device products.

Responsibilities

• Lead product and process improvement efforts by analyzing quality metrics and enhancing product design
• Develop and execute test methods, design verification, process validation protocols, and risk management activities
• Create and implement quality tools, training materials, and product quality plans with cross-functional teams
• Identify and reduce manufacturing process defects through root cause analysis and corrective actions
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality system standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and work experience
• Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of related quality engineering work experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of technological field and business unit functions
• Recognized expertise in quality systems and cross-functional problem-solving
• In-depth knowledge of technical alternatives and business impact analysis

Compensation: $90,000–$180,000 base
