Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Med/Tele unit is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients with neurological conditions and a variety of other medical diagnoses. This role requires strong critical thinking and assessment skills to care for patients with conditions such as epilepsy, brain tumors, and traumatic brain injuries.

Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematoma, scoliosis surgeries, and related neuro diagnoses.
• Perform and assess crani nerve evaluations and other required Med/Tele procedures.
• Participate in the floor-specific orientation and complete SIMs Lab for necessary skill validation.

Requirements:

• Must have Level 1 trauma experience and a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar setting.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; BSN preferred, and certified in Med Surg/Tele preferred.
• Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance and SIMs Lab skills during orientation.
