Job Summary:The Roofing Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial roofing systems while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain commercial roofing systems, including flat, low-slope, and steep-slope roofs.
- Work with roofing materials such as TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal, and asphalt shingles.
- Diagnose roofing issues and perform effective repairs.
- Follow manufacturer specifications, company standards, and applicable building codes.
- Conduct roof inspections and identify defects or maintenance needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and PPE requirements.
- Operate roofing tools, equipment, ladders, and other job-related machinery safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with project managers, foremen, and crew members to complete projects on schedule.
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Commercial roofing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing systems and installation methods.
- Ability to safely operate roofing tools and equipment.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to travel locally as business needs require.
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Commercial roofing experience required.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work at elevated heights for extended periods.
- Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
Safely perform physically demanding work while wearing required PPE
