About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with GSK SOLUTIONS INC to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Boston, Massachusetts, 02134!

We are seeking an experienced  MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment on the MedSurg 6 North unit. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses with strong Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience who are comfortable caring for post-operative and medical patients in a fast-paced acute care environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, treatments, and ongoing monitoring.
• Independently interpret and identify cardiac rhythms every 4 hours (no central monitor technician).
• Care for post-operative patients, including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecologic, and vascular procedures.
• Manage patients with heart failure, chest pain, pneumonia, cellulitis, pancreatitis, alcohol withdrawal, and other acute medical conditions.
• Administer medications and therapies, including Heparin, TPN, Lasix, and Cardizem (non-titrating per protocol).
• Document patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
• Float to other units as needed based on hospital staffing requirements.

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent MedSurg/Telemetry experience .
• Previous travel nursing experience required ( first-time travelers will not be considered ).
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythms.
• Bilingual candidates (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole) are encouraged to apply
