SPAN 101: Beginning Spanish I Position: Lecturer Semester: Fall 2026 Day/Time: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 7:30 to 8:20 a.m. Modality: In-person College: College of Humanities, Arts, Behavioral and Social Sciences Department: Modern Language Studies The Modern Language Studies Department at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Fall 2026 to teach SPAN 101: Beginning Spanish I. Course Description: An introduction to the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures, with emphasis on the development of communicative skills and grammatical structures. Language laboratory practice is a mandatory component of the course. Minimum qualifications: A master's degree in Spanish Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Preferred qualifications: ABD in the language of instruction Experience teaching at the college/university level Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.
