Fire Training Officer 2 – Full Time (Job ID 20060347, Grade 31, Step 1 $27.92). Position located in Stark County, Ohio with regional responsibilities across North‑West and North‑East Ohio. Responsibilities Instruct and evaluate students in Ohio Fire Academy training programs on campus and regionally throughout the state. Coordinate technical programs such as Fire Safety Inspector, Fire Instructor, Live Fire, and other bureau‑specific trainings stemming from code updates, fireworks training, and underground storage tank inspector training. Counsel students and conduct skill testing (e.g., IFSAC accreditation) and specialized training programs. Review, analyze, and evaluate programs, methods, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with NFPA standards; recommend improvements to lesson plans, resident programs, course development, and current course updates. Track and maintain student course records. Qualifications Certified as a Public Safety Instructor in firefighting by the Department of Public Safety pursuant to Section 4765.55 of the Revised Code and possess a valid driver’s license.
