Job Title: Senior Specialist, Quality EngineeringJob Code: 39294Job Location: Malabar, FLJob Schedule: 1st Shift, Mon-Thurs 4/10Job Description:This position is responsible for quality improvement related to suppliers and/or subcontractors of machined components, fabricated parts, and manufacturing services used in development and production. Support the implementation of Zero-Defect Plans (ZDP) with critical machining and fabrication suppliers, by assisting them to develop robust manufacturing processes, perform process/product validations, and recommending manufacturability improvements (process and design). Supports L3Harris operations when supplied material is identified as nonconforming and drive corrective action(s) with the supplier. Analyze supplier performance and develop improvement plans to drive down supplier nonconformance rates.Essential Functions:Use Six Sigma & Lean concepts for supplier improvement of quality and delivery metricsProvide training for basic quality methodologies to support supplier partnershipsSupport programs assessing potential new machining and fabrication suppliersReview, analyze and report on quality discrepancies related to machined parts, fabricated assemblies, mechanical systems, and electro-mechanical componentsPerform and evaluate root cause and corrective action to correct product/process deficiencies, ensuring implementation with suppliers and effectiveness of actionsPerform elements of Advanced Product Quality Planning (Process Flow Diagrams & Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis, and First Articles)Perform Statistical Process Control, Predictive Quality methodologies, and problem-solving methodologiesWork proactively with L3Harris suppliers to mitigate the risk of escapes to L3Harris and L3Harris customersAbility to travel up to 30% percentAbility to work flexible hours on an as need basisAbility to obtain a U.S. Government Security ClearanceQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills:AS9102 FAI experienceWorking knowledge of PPAP implementation and associated elementsExperience with Predictive Quality and problem-solving methodologiesISO9001/AS9100 and process audit experienceExperience in ZDP Project ManagementFamiliarity with precision measurement equipment and CMM programmingExperience with GD&T interpretation and inspection methodsKnowledge in machining processes (CNC milling, turning, grinding), and fabrication techniques (welding, brazing, sheet metal forming, assembly)#LI-SS1
