- Ability to plan, supervise, and execute an effectively run medical office.
- Coordinate office activities; express ideas clearly and concisely; exercise balanced judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions.
- Assumes responsibility of the office staffing, patient care quality and outcomes of the care provided.
- Actively strives for cost containment efforts by appropriately and effectively utilizing available manpower and materials resources.
- Coordinates and directs emergency situations, such as Code Blues and other emergency alerts in the medical office.
- Readily identifies problems in patient care area and the environment, and promptly and effectively takes appropriate action to resolve problems.
- Handles all requests for service and/or complaints from members of the community on matters of general importance to medical practice, in person or by telephone.
- Communicates necessary information to Hospital Management.
- Will educate themselves and support initiatives to appropriately prescribe, monitor medication management for patient safety, including the appropriate use of antibiotics in their practice.
- Will participate in antibiotic stewardship committee as requested and needed.
- Practices medicine as qualified and documented in the privileges approved.
- Develops and maintains standards of care in compliance with accrediting/regulatory agencies.
- Promotes policies established by the Board of Healing Arts and is responsible for assuring effective implementation.
- Establishes case management and utilization review criteria for patient charts.
- Completes charting in a timely basis. Strives to meet requirements of meaningful use.
- Makes rounds at the hospital as appropriate and when needed.
- Fulfills Medical Staff Advisor duties as required.
- Assists with the swing-bed program as appropriate and when needed.
- Assists with physician-on-call program as appropriate and when needed.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Medical degree, currently licensed with the state of Missouri.
- Board-certified or board-eligible in perspective field.
- Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association or preapproved provider.
- Refer to Medical Staff Credentialing file for required competencies.
