Chief Labor Negotiator

Job Summary Under limited direction, partners with the Human Resources Director and the Human Resources Management team to provide senior leadership across the department; oversees the employee and labor relations functions, serving as the chief negotiator in collective bargaining with employee unions; advises City leadership on complex labor and employee relations matters, while fostering a collaborative and solutions‑oriented culture built on trust, transparency, and mutual respect; and performs related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field Seven (7) years of advanced level human resources experience which included a minimum of five (5) years of employee and labor relations experience including serving in a principal negotiation role with demonstrated success Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered Must pass a nationwide fingerprint‑based record check, and a wants/warrants check Must complete Security Awareness and National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Nevada Criminal Justice Information System (NCJIS) certification within six months of hire/transfer and be recertified every year.
