Database Administrator — Journeyman

Overview Location: Washington, DC area; Start Date: September 1, 2026; Clearance: T5 investigation / clearance required; Experience Level: Journeyman, 3+ years. Position Summary We are seeking a Database Administrator (Journeyman) to support a mission-critical federal database environment for a potential opportunity. The DBA will perform daily database operations, monitoring, maintenance, ETL support, SQL query support, data quality validation, interface validation, and Tier 1–2 troubleshooting. Responsibilities Perform daily database operations, monitoring, and routine maintenance. Support Oracle and/or SQL Server database environments. Support daily ETL processes for reporting and data warehouse activities. Develop, run, and troubleshoot SQL queries. Validate data quality and support interface reconciliation. Generate data quality reports and assist with data quality controls. Support SFTP-based data transfer processes. Provide Tier 1–2 help desk support for database, reporting, data, and interface issues. Support MicroStrategy or similar BI/reporting environments. Maintain database documentation and support approved change and release processes. Required Qualifications 3+ years of relevant database administration experience. Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or SQL Server. Experience with ETL processes, SQL queries, data validation, and SFTP processes. Knowledge of MicroStrategy or similar business intelligence/reporting tools. Experience supporting production operations, troubleshooting, and help desk tickets. Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with technical teams, program staff, and government stakeholders. U.S. Citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting federal, DoD, or mission-critical systems. Experience with AWS GovCloud, SQL Server data warehouses, Oracle Data Guard, or reporting environments. Familiarity with RMF, ATO, STIGs, CUI/PII protections, and DoD cybersecurity requirements. Clearance Requirement Top Secret (T5) investigation/clearance required.
