Senior Application Support Engineer

New York City | Four days onsite, one day remote The Opportunity A well-established investment manager is hiring an experienced, hands‑on Application Support Engineer to own day‑to‑day support of the firm's trading and business‑critical applications. This is not a ticket‑routing or help desk role. You will troubleshoot production issues end to end, write and modify SQL directly against live systems, automate recurring processes, and work face to face with portfolio management, trading, and operations users who expect fast, accurate answers. What You'll Do Serve as the primary escalation point for application issues across front, middle, and back office systems Diagnose data discrepancies and application errors at the database level using SQL Server Build and maintain reports and ad‑hoc data pulls for business users Automate manual processes through PowerShell and scripting Participate in release testing and changes to the application environment Build out support documentation, runbooks, and a lasting knowledge base Coordinate with vendors and internal development teams on escalations What We're Looking For 7 to 10 years supporting applications in financial services; strong candidates with 5+ years will be considered Deep, current MS SQL Server skills, including writing stored procedures and complex queries yourself Experience with SSRS or comparable SQL‑based reporting tools PowerShell or comparable scripting for automation Comfort supporting demanding front‑office users under time pressure Availability for occasional off‑hours release and maintenance windows Preferred Experience Asset management, fund administration, or other buy‑side environments Order management or trading platform exposure from the support side Enterprise batch scheduling tools This is a hands‑on senior individual‑contributor seat with direct daily exposure to investment teams and real ownership of a firm's application environment. #J-18808-Ljbffr Segrera Associates
