Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs through history-taking, observation, physical examination, and analysis of diagnostic data, and develop individualized, age-specific plans of care.
• Provide nursing interventions consistent with the Plan of Care, standards of practice, and physician-prescribed medical plans, including conducting hourly rounds per service excellence standards.
• Utilize standard work protocols for central lines, Foley catheters, pressure ulcers, ventilators (as applicable), restraints, and fall-risk patients.
• Serve as charge nurse when assigned, contributing to daily department efficiency; advances resuscitative certification appropriate to patient population when serving in a Charge Nurse or PCS role.
• Precept novice employees and contribute to department growth through hospital-system initiatives and evidence-based practice development.
• Foster a caring, compassionate, and respectful environment for patients, families, and visitors while maintaining a professional image aligned with Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of South Carolina or compact licensure eligibility.
• Current emergency room or acute care clinical competency.
• Ability to work night shifts in a fast-paced emergency department environment.
• Commitment to continued professional growth through goal-setting and ongoing education.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an emergency department or high-acuity clinical setting.
• Experience precepting or mentoring new nursing staff.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practice initiatives in a hospital system environment.
