Central Sterile Technician Assignment

The role is a 13-week local travel Central Sterile Technician assignment in San Jose, CA. You'll support surgical teams by decontaminating, sterilizing, assembling, and tracking instruments while maintaining compliance with infection control standards. The position offers weekly pay up to $1,800 based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment
• Assemble instrument trays and procedure carts according to established guidelines
• Operate sterilization equipment including steam sterilizers, autoclaves, and low-temperature systems
• Monitor biological and chemical indicators to ensure sterilization effectiveness
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and instrument tracking
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and damage
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies, AAMI standards, and facility procedures
• Collaborate with OR staff and clinical departments to meet case demands
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure proper storage of sterile supplies

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
• Knowledge of sterilization standards, infection prevention, and instrument tracking systems

Preferred Skills:

• Completion of a Central Sterile Processing or Surgical Technology program
• Minimum 12 years of recent Central Sterile or Sterile Processing experience
