Repairman Lead

Purpose As the Repairman Lead, your primary responsibility is to lead and supervise the repair staff, contractors, suppliers, and other workers, ensuring all tasks are completed properly, on schedule, and in adherence to safety standards. This role involves maintaining and repairing machinery critical to the daily operations of an aggregate or asphalt facility. Through effective planning, job evaluations, and coordination with management and team members, the Repairman Lead aims to resolve operational challenges, promote safety, and achieve organizational goals, contributing to the overall success of the facility. Focus & Scope Repair and maintain the operation of the rock plant, asphalt plant, belt line, and equipment, overseeing the project/work site to ensure safety standards are followed and quality work is performed timely. Conduct daily walkthroughs of the project/work site to verify the availability and proper use of materials and tools; identify and address issues promptly to keep work on schedule. Perform scheduled and routine maintenance; review repair requests; assemble tools and equipment; perform maintenance tasks such as replacing screen decks, conveyor belts, rollers, lubricating gearboxes, crushers, and bearings; record parts numbers and measurements as needed. Use hand and power tools to repair or replace components like screen bearings, wire cloth screens, chutes, liners, crusher liners, and rollers; troubleshoot to identify repair needs; may use come-along or crane for lifting and positioning components; utilize test equipment to measure temperatures and pressures. Fabricate and weld metal parts for hoppers, transfer boxes, conveyor systems, handrails, etc.; perform welding repairs and installations. Pour and level concrete foundation pads and footings; fabricate chutes and ladders; assemble conveyors; install motors, gearboxes, crushers, and conveyor systems. Maintain personal work area; assist with cleaning tasks such as cleaning trucks, shoveling material spills, and cleaning shafts and bearings prior to replacements; operate pressure hoses for cleaning. Load and unload tools and supplies manually; operate lifts, hoists, or forklifts for heavier items; sign for received supplies. Operate equipment for mining, stockpiling, cleaning, repairing, dust control, and maintenance tasks on the plant site. Perform general labor tasks such as shoveling, equipment operation, and site cleanliness maintenance. Complete other tasks as assigned by your supervisor related to the operation and maintenance of the facility. Role Qualifications & Requirements Experience with cutting, torching, grinding, welding, and rigging Proficiency in using hand tools and operating equipment Knowledge of aggregate and asphalt materials and products Ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment Equipment Used, Physical Demands, and Work Environment Equipment includes Wheel Loader, Excavator, Utility Truck, Tractor, Skid Steer, Dozer, Telescopic Handler Forklift, Articulating Boom Lift, Haul Truck, Water Truck, Welder, Torch, Hand Tools, Computer, and CB Radio. Physical demands involve shoveling, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting or standing for extended periods, and climbing stairs.
