Lead Software Engineer

Salary: $172,900 - 198,750 per year Requirements:

• We want someone with 8+ years of software engineering experience, including increasing technical leadership responsibility.
• We need strong database design expertise, including relational schema planning, migrations, indexing, and SQL fluency; PostgreSQL is preferred.
• We are looking for full-stack development experience, with strong backend skills in Python/FastAPI or similar and frontend experience in React and Next.js or equivalent.
• We value experience integrating AI/ML systems in production, including model-serving endpoints, workflow orchestration, structured LLM output, and confidence scoring.
• We require experience with document processing or OCR pipelines, including layout analysis, structured text extraction, and document understanding.
• We expect workflow system design experience, including claim/lock patterns, status transitions, and multi-stage review processes.
• We need proven cross-functional leadership in distributed teams across time zones, functions, and skill sets.
• We prefer cloud platform experience, ideally with Google Cloud Platform, or transferable experience with AWS or Azure.
• We require a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Preferred experience includes agentic AI workflows, UI component libraries and state management, containerization, observability, and LLM orchestration or RAG architecture.

• We lead end-to-end technical delivery for our full-stack platform across frontend, backend, data infrastructure, and AI-enabled workflows.
• We define architecture patterns, connect system components, and help ensure reliable delivery.
• We partner with program leadership and operational teams to understand real workflows and convert them into effective software design.
• We design and build our data layer, including production schemas, provenance tracking, and configuration-driven changes that avoid code rewrites.
• We integrate AI and ML workflows such as structured LLM output, model serving, evaluation tooling, feedback loops, and tracking mechanisms.
• We spend most of our time building, coding, and shaping the technical foundation of the platform.
• We collaborate with AI engineers, operational stakeholders, PMs, BAs, and leadership to align technology with business needs.
• We help create the operational workbench frontend and the supporting systems around document extraction and review.
• We guide technical direction and make architectural decisions that scale with the platform.
