Supply Chain Director

The Supply Chain Director will lead the company's procurement strategy while overseeing logistics operations supporting both fresh and frozen product distribution. The ideal candidate brings deep procurement expertise within the food industry, strong commercial acumen, and a passion for building scalable systems, developing teams, and delivering measurable business results. About the Role The successful candidate will partner closely with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, and Executive Leadership to optimize supplier relationships, reduce costs, improve service levels, and create a supply chain capable of supporting future acquisitions and continued growth. Responsibilities Strategic Procurement & Sourcing Develop and execute the company's procurement strategy across raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and indirect spend. Lead negotiations with suppliers to improve pricing, service levels, payment terms, and long-term partnerships. Identify dual sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risk. Monitor commodity markets and proactively manage cost volatility. Drive procurement synergies resulting from acquisitions and future integration efforts. Implement purchasing best practices, policies, and performance metrics. Supply Chain & Logistics Oversee inbound transportation, inventory flow, warehousing, and outbound logistics across multiple production facilities. Manage frozen distribution logistics and relationships with warehouse partners and 3PL providers. Improve inventory visibility, material planning, and just-in-time replenishment strategies. Optimize transportation networks, cross-docking operations, and distribution efficiency. Leadership & Operational Excellence Lead, mentor, and develop a growing supply chain organization, including procurement, logistics, and distribution teams. Build scalable processes and reporting capabilities that support company growth. Develop KPIs and dashboards that improve visibility into procurement, inventory, logistics, and service performance. Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, efficiency, and profitability. Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product launches, capacity planning, and operational initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience within food manufacturing. Strong procurement and strategic sourcing background with demonstrated negotiation success. Experience managing supplier relationships, commodity purchasing, and packaging procurement. Knowledge of inbound logistics, warehousing, transportation, and inventory management. Experience leading teams and developing supply chain talent. Strong ERP systems experience with a data-driven approach to decision making. Excellent analytical, financial, and communication skills. Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Preferred Skills Food manufacturing experience.
